The Women of South Asia

The Women of South Asia The South Asian societies have some of the weirdest rules for women when it comes to social meetings and education. Men and women, both have equal rights. The society, however, is the entire opposite. Before marriage, boys go out with girls, smoke, lose their virginity, do drugs and what not. Somehow, its all perfectly okay for boys to do that. I mean if they get caught by parents, its no big deal, ' because they're boys'. Girls, on the other hand: oh ho hell nah. See one of these girls doing that and you're likely to hear one of these statements: I disown you You can no longer acquire education you are supposed to be pure and clean, you've thrown dirt over our "reputation" is this what I've raised you like  and the list goes on... An Asian husband wants a pure and virgin woman. He however, is the entire opposite. My point here doesn't go to the fact that women should be allowed for sex before marriage, dr...

an artist- a short story

His ambitions were wild and unexpected. Being a boy, all his parents wanted him to become was either an engineer or a doctor. “Art is not a means of income.” His father’s words were ringing in his head as he stood outside the art gallery, scrutinizing the paintings, lost deep in thoughts with the weight of his backpack on his shoulders and the stress of unwillingness of becoming an engineer in his heart. Fantasizing about his career as an artist, he couldn’t imagine how he would manage to become one. Maybe opening up to his parents was one the stupidest mistakes he had ever made. But who would’ve known his very own father was not going to support him. Lost in despair and head hanging low, he started walking towards his home, trying to come up for an excuse for being late yet again. With a thud, he was on the ground, his paintings scattered everywhere. “Dear, dear. I’m so sorry.” said the old lady whom he had bumped into. “No worries,” he said shyly, getting up and gathering up his ...

its painful to see the people around you with money. going abroad, getting the best education, when all you crave for is education. all you want is a life better than you parent's. no offense, but seriously. i am happy with all what i have been given. sure. but does it mean that i should live the way as them? shouldn't i work hard to make my life better? see, just because  am a girl doesn't mean i cant do much or win more bread. give me a chance. let me go out and see what i am capable of. don't enclose me within four walls and expect me to cook just because i am a female. don't be fooled by my appearance.

Signs You May be Boring Others

Signs You May be Boring Others By Muniza Imran Everyone likes to ramble on and on about their day or even worse, life! Well you may find a really good listener but most people will just be trying to escape. No one likes a complaining granny. So if you want to ramble—if it makes you feel any better, do it alone in an empty room or in front of a mirror in your bathroom. Don't bore the poor innocent human nature! Some people just can't tell when they start to ramble and they go on and on without realizing it! That can be an inescapable trap for the communication partner. You don't want anyone to feel that way about you, do you? Certainly not me. So there are some signs that show your listener is getting bored. You should seriously consider these signs and look for them during a rapport with your communicator. 1. SHIFTING WEIGHT: Notice that a bored listener will start to shift his weight and will also lean on nearby objects such as a chair or a counter....

Life is a box of chocolates

Life is a box of chocolates - some sweet, some bitter but each with a special surprise When a person is suffering from a bad day, mostly because he's unsuccessful, he often says "Why don’t I just die?! I hate my life!" But it's not a bad life, it's just a bad day. Living life is not easy. It’s not frozen food that makes everything easy.   There'll be times when you'll be dancing with joy and sometimes, you'll be crying like hell. But it doesn’t mean that you should shout and complain, because that isn't going to make any difference. Life comes with hardships and pain. You suffer. You face defeat, loss. This is life. Working hard is the only key to success. And success only comes when you work so hard as if you need air for breathing.    Working hard doesn't necessarily come with success. You will fail but if you really want what you want, then you won't give up and will try again. You will make mistakes too, lots, but mista...

The Benefits of Struggling

As we grow older, we consider getting popular in school rather than focussing on studies. Nerds become the joke of the school and all those who misbehave get all the attention and fame by other students. Smoking and drinking is considered “cool” and students brag about it in school just to show that they are rich and old enough to do all those things and consider it as a source of fame. Being old means maturing. If these kids are going to smoke and drink and then brag about it or post pictures on social media, then this sort of behaviour does not show maturity. The saddest thing is that either the parents are unaware of these things due to lack of knowledge or are encouraging their kids to do so, feeling as if the kids are mature enough (when they are not) or are either saying that they have no control over their kids, they do as they wish. In Pakistan, boys of age ten have been spotted riding bikes with their father sitting behind them. They take their young sons to work with...
